Orientation
This course teaches the history of the Pipe Trades and your future in the trade.  You will also learn job safety, use and care of tools and Occupational Safety & Health (OSHA) Standards.  Upon successful completion of the class, you will receive an OSHA 10 card.

Rigging/Basic Math
This course is designed to give a refresher on basic math while also teaching knots, ropes and rigging.  You will learn the proper methods of rigging to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the worksite.

Copper/Acetylene
In this class, apprentices will learn both the soldering and brazing methods of the preparation and joining of the cup type copper tube joint.  Students will also be taught the proper use of tools and brazing techniques for the installation of medical gas systems.

Piping Math
This class will teach apprentices pipe measurements and formulas for math related to the Pipe Trades.  You will also learn Metric measurements and instruments used for the layout of piping systems.

Gas Distribution
This course covers both natural and LP gas systems.  You will learn the properties of gas, piping systems, clocking and orifice sizing, air supply and venting, valves and regulators, electrical systems and appliances.

Drainage
In this class, students will learn the various types on drainage systems installed and maintaned by pipe trades journeyworkers, including:  sewage disposal, sewers and drains, building drainage systems, the plumbing trap and venting the drainage system.

Water Distribution
Using the UA Water Supply book, apprentices will learn about Water Treatment, Water Mains and Services, Building Water Supply Systems and Hot Water Supply.

Science/Advanced Math
This course teaches students the properties of water, laws of hydraulics and pneumatics as related to piping systems, the basic principles of mechanics dealing with the tools of the pipe trades, metals used in the piping industry and will provide a complete understanding on the subject of corrosion and its effects on piping materials.

Piping Drawing

This class introduces the basic drawing tools, measuring tools and lettering skills.  Apprentices will also learn about plan view and elevation view drawings, graphic symbols for pipe fittings and valves, intepretation of technical diagrams and buiding specifications.

Service & Repair/Fixtures & Controls

This course presents some of the basic principles of service work, including human relations, salesmanship, how to plan service work and how to troubleshoot plumbing systems.  Many of these principles can be applied to all phases of the piping industry.

Advanced Drawing

A follow-up to Piping Drawing, this course covers advanced plan reading, working sketches, the development of sleeve and coordinated drawings and an introduction to computer aided drafting (CAD).

Plumbing Code I

This course teaches apprentices the plumbing codes required to provide consumers with safe and sanitary plumbing systems, while allowing latitude for innovation and new technologies.

ARC Welding

In this welding class, students will learn about oxy-acetylene and oxy-fuel cutting and welding progressing through shielded metal-arc welding test procedures.  Safety is stressed throughout this course as the tools, equipment, types of rod, weld positions, proper gaps, bevels and the various types of lap and butt joints are demonstrated and explained.

Foreman Training

Apprentices are taught the necessary trade and human relations skills necessary to run a job site, dealing with contractors, subcontractors and customers.

Computers

This basic course, teaches students about computers and how technology can be utilized in the plumbing and piping industry.
