- Arrive at the training center during posted test time(s) with ample time to complete the welding procedure specification (WPS). Or make an appointment at training centers requiring them with ample time to complete the welding procedure specification.
- At the ATR’s discretion, you may be requested to weld an acceptable sample of the test you would like to perform.
- Weld an acceptable sample of the test you want to take.
- The sample will be evaluated and accepted or rejected by a Welding Instructor/Inspector in the weld shop.
- If the sample is acceptable, the next step is to perform the weld test within the maximum time permitted per the weld test specification.
- Results are usually available within 5 to 10 business days.
It is a member’s responsibility to keep their certifications up to date.
Continuity is good for six (6) months from a test date and six (6) months thereafter as long as it is prior to the expiration of the six (6) month period.
How To Update A Welding Certification
If a member is working and believes their certifications are about to lapse, the member can have a contractor submit a welder continuity form directly through their QAQC (Quality Assurance Quality Control) program. The form may be downloaded by clicking on the file button below.
If the member has not been working and believes their certifications are about to lapse, an update can be performed at the training center during its hours of operation.
